The Custom Field Questions feature is a valuable addition to chat flow builders, allowing you to create interactive and personalized chatbot interactions. With this node, you can ask text or multiple-choice questions to users and capture their responses. In this tutorial, we'll walk you through the steps to effectively use the Custom Field Questions.
Step 1: Access the Chat Flow Builder
Open an Interaction record and click on the Chat Flow tab to access the chat flow builder.
Step 2: Add the Custom Field Question Node

Drag and Drop: In your chat flow builder interface, locate the Question Node. Click and drag the Question Node to the desired position in your chat flow.

Positioning: Drop the Question Node into the chat flow where you want to ask a question and capture user responses.
Step 3: Configure the Custom Questions Node

Select the Node: Click on the Question Node that you've added to your chat flow. This should open a properties panel for configuring the question.

Set the Question Body: In the properties panel, you will see a field labeled "Body." Enter the text of the question you want to ask the user here.

Choose Question Type:
- Click on the "Question Type" dropdown.
- Select "Field" as the Question Type.

Select "Custom" Field Type:
- After choosing "Field" as the Question Type, a new option should appear allowing you to select the Field Type.
- Select either "Text" or "List," depending on whether you want an open text response or a multiple-choice question.

Define Field Name:
- Enter a unique field name (containing letters only, no spaces) that will identify this question in your chat flow. This name will be used to reference and store user responses.

Configure List Options (if applicable):
- If you selected "List" as the Field Type, you'll need to define the possible answer choices.
- Click on the "List" field and enter the available choices and use the "Enter" button to submit a choice.

Update and Save: Once you've configured the question, click the "Update" button to save your settings. Be sure to save the entire interaction to apply your changes.
Step 4: Test and Review
To ensure the Custom Field Question works as expected, test your widget interaction. Verify that the questions are asked correctly and that user responses are captured appropriately.
